Furniture with soul,
made to measure

We create furniture with soul and wood.

El Nogal Carpentry is a family-run workshop in Olney, Maryland, building custom furniture, built-ins, and personalized wood pieces for homes across the DMV. Every piece is made by hand by Giovani Ortega, a carpenter who has spent more than twenty years at the bench, and shaped around your space, your wood, and the way you live.

03Meet the maker

Every piece El Nogal makes is built by Giovani Ortega, the carpenter who leads the workshop.

He works the wood himself, from first cut to final finish. Gio has spent more than twenty years learning what wood will do and how to make it last, and he brings that patience to every commission. His sons, Chris and David, run the office and client side, so the family answers your questions and the maker builds your piece. El Nogal is licensed in Maryland.
